History
Established in 1961 by James William “Billy” Smith, this family-owned business has grown from a recycling company operating out of a warehouse in Albany, Ga., into a multi-faceted international company. The company was into recycling long before it was fashionable.
As the Smith family trucking business continued to grow, Smith Consulting Group was established in 1991. Smith Transport and Logistics was formed in 2004 to meet the growing challenges of the domestic trucking industry and international shipping demands.
Now headquartered in Marietta, Georgia (a suburb in the metropolitan Atlanta, Georgia area), the company also maintains offices in Albany, Georgia, Gainesville, Georgia and Dallas, Texas.
